Calling All Like-Minded Residents Who Have an Interest in Community Development.

Following eight months of consultation with the young people of Seavington, the Somerset Rural Youth Project are calling for assistance from the community to establish a working party to respond to the needs and aspirations of the parish’s youth.

Several young volunteers and SRYP staff are currently meeting on a fortnightly basis in the Millennium Hall, with the kind permission of the hall committee’s Chair, Peter Ashley.

Perry Chapman, the lead worker on the project says “This is a very exciting opportunity for the young people of Seavington to have their voices heard and to also take a proactive role in the decision making process concerning the establishment of youth facilities within their community”.

Although the group is small in number currently, they have some big ideas for the future and would welcome all the support and participation from their fellow community members. So if you are young or young at heart and believe that you have the time, energy and commitment to assist in the ‘Development of your Community’ why not volunteer and get involved.

The working party will be in the meeting rooms on the following Wednesdays:

Wednesday 23rd May   7pm to 8pm

Wednesday 6th   June  7pm to 8pm

Wednesday 20th June  7pm to 8pm
