Historically each of the Seavington villages was a Parish in its own right with its own church and vicar. Some years ago St Mary’s Church was passed to the care of the Council for Redundant Churches and worship concentrated on St Michael’s Church.

Since then, the combined Seavingtons parishes have lost their own vicar and are administered from South Petherton as a part of  “The Combined Benefice of South Petherton with the Seavingtons”.
