Welcome to The Seavingtons
Seavington St Mary and Seavington St Michael, often referred to as “The Seavingtons”, are two small villages in the South of the County of Somerset in the United Kingdom. We welcome you to our home page.
This web-site is intended to serve the residents of, and visitors to, our villages. Within the site you will find a little about our history and geography and a lot about how we live and enjoy our delightful part of England.
This site will continue to be developed to meet the needs of our community. Thus, if you don't find the information you are looking for please contact us. Further, please come back and revisit the site as it develops; what you couldn't find today may be here by tomorrow.

Seavington History Project
It has come to our attention from looking at other village web-sites how little we know about the listed buildings in the Seavingtons. If anyone has old photos, history or stories about their old houses we would love to have access to them to include in the Web Museum. So far we have been concentrating on the people of the villages but it would be really interesting to build up a picture of the earlier properties. Also if you have any photographs which show when significant changes were made to your locality with new houses or changes to the roads - we would be very interested.
See the History Project story so far.
Work at the Village Store and Café?
As with any community volunteer-run enterprise the volunteers are at the core of the business – if you would like to get involved please contact Laura Gowers on 01460 240606. At the moment we really need some help in the shop on Saturdays but there are also lots of other jobs we need help with, not just behind-the-counter work.
If you have an hour or more to spare do come and join the team – perhaps your skills are floral – then flowers for the café table might be the role for you? Or perhaps you could spare an hour or so a week to help us clean? As the holiday season approaches we also need some extra help to cover slots in the rota when ‘regulars’ take their holidays – would you consider doing some holiday cover.
Can You Help?
As you are all probably aware Communities are being asked to do more for themselves and in this context Parish Councillors would like to know if there are any volunteers who would be willing to work with the Lengthsman and our Parish Paths Liaison Officer. We would also like to know what other skills you may have that could be used to enhance the villages generally. Please contact any Parish Councillor to show your interest.
Free Internet Access at the Village Store and Café
Either bring your own laptop and use our Wi-Fi or sit in the café at our computer and do your on-line shopping, browse the web or just learn how to use a personal computer and the Internet. If you feel that you don’t have the required computer skills, warn us in advance we will have someone there who can help you.
