In March the Store and Cafe will be welcoming residents from the Orchard Vale Trust at Wookey to display their craft in the shop. The Orchard Vale Trust offers residential care and day services for adults with a learning disability and they have a very productive art department. Look out for hand-made felt bags and cushions, ceramic creatures and beautiful pottery fairy houses for the garden – you won’t be disappointed! You can see photographs on their website at: www.orchardvaletrust.org.uk/ showing some great designs.
Lydia Barker from Chew Valley will be putting up her work in the café – expect something different – Lydia works with mixed media using paints, textiles, wore and plaster. She has worked as a teacher, and interior designer and now has her own studio where she hopes to teach and also to offer young people having difficulty at school a space in which to express themselves.
We are really pleased to welcome these talented artists to Seavington.15th February 2016
