Although the Parish Council meets as The Grouped Council of The Seavingtons, when it comes to elections we are treated as two separate Parishes. Accordingly St Michael has 3 Councillors and St Mary 4. Because of the electoral rules Councillors can live in either of the Parishes.
This year nominations received for Seavington St Michael were from: Nick Loxton, Pauline Parsons and Colin Turner and this means that those 3 were elected unopposed.
As far as Seavington St Mary was concerned only 2 nominations were received: Elaine Edwards and Dennis Smith. These two were elected unopposed and 2 people namely: Nigel England and Chris Reyland were co-opted at the Council meeting on 19th May.
