The Village Store & Café – Volunteer News                     

We are considering providing an Indian food theme dinner later this summer.  This would be open to all. 

Food tasing sessions continue with local producers Mozown (S Petherton) who produce chilli sausace and The Sausage shed (Stembridge) who produce award winning sausages and chipolatas.  We have also had samplings recently of both Miles Tea and Moores biscuits.  The provision of local food is popular within the village as it allows people to experience foods they quite often can't get from their local supermarket as well as supporting our local businesses.  The recent survey of the village also indicated quite strongly that local food provision was very poular.

 Following the volunteers meeting in late april we have now approached several coach companies so watch this space for extra cafe work.  We have had a good response to the volunteer signup sheets for both Seniors lunches and Sunday continental breakfasts so will be moving ahead with these plans shortly.
