The Seavingtons’ Community Land Trust was formed following the generous gift from Andrew Whitehouse, to the Parishes of Seavington St Mary and Seavington St Michael, of three of the houses that were to be built on the site of his former company Lift West.

The development now known as Falcon Close. Development of the site was started in May of 2017 and all of the CLT tenants were in residence by Christmas 2018.

The Trust held its first Special General Meeting on the 30 th March 2017. Residents of both parishes had been invited to become members of the CLT by purchasing £1 shares. Becoming a member entitles a resident to become part of the decision making process in connection with the management of the houses. New members are still welcome and you can find the appropriate form under documents on this page. Only Members can join The Board of Directors who take on the responsibility of the day to day management and letting of the properties.

The Board is also responsible for distributing any excess monies accrued from rents received fromthe properties, at least annually, to projects that improve the physical, social and economic infrastructure of the community.
